I just put these up and I love them, they are beautiful and the perfect size for me. The instructions are really self explanatory, and the quality is great! I don’t keep books after I read them unless I absolutely love them and know I’ll want to read them again. Definitely would purchase again!

Overall good for the price, but not packaged well
Overall, I do like them, they look nice where I put them and with the wall anchors they feel sturdy enough to hold a decent amount of weight. Installation was easy enough if you’ve ever put up shelves before, there is nothing overly different or complicated about it. It comes with 2 anchors and 2 long screws to hang each shelf, which is plenty if you do it right. You do not need to use 4 anchors for each shelf unless you are putting some seriously heavy stuff on these, in which case I suggest you look elsewhere anyway. Additionally, there are predrilled holes for attaching the bracket to the wood, but i didn’t not use them because I wanted a little more of the wood to show on the other side of the bracket, but this was still easy to do by hand without the predrilled holes. Also I will say definitely have someone help hold the shelves up when marking where to drill the holes on the wall.It IS real wood and the color is nice, not sure why some people complained about the wood type, it feels normal to me, albeit one of my shelves did have a few scuffs on one side, they weren’t very noticeable and I just made it the side no one would see when hung.I also like the satin black look of the brackets, HOWEVER the reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the brackets were not properly packaged with any cushioning or covers so they arrived with noticeable scuffs on the corners where the paint had been chipped/rubbed off from clanging together during transit. I posted some pictures of this. It wasn’t the end of the world for me because I was able to cover the scuffs with some black sharpie, which did the job well enough, but obviously it’s not perfect if you inspect it up close. I put my shelves in a darker area by my back door so I’m fine with it because no one will probably ever notice but if you need them to display things in a prominent area of your home, they may not be the best.

I would buy these again but understand what you’re getting
I’m torn between three and four stars. I like the final outcome but the parts are not top notch. The wood is very light and soft. It dents very easily. There are also knots everywhere, which disturb the grain lines and create weaker boards. The knots also prevent the stain from penetrating and coloring the wood. Last complaint, the mounting hardware is pretty weak. I used my own wall anchors.The things I like are the strength. So far I’ve loaded the shelves with books. Mostly college textbooks and For Dummies books, but pretty heavy stuff. They are holding up pretty well, no deflection in the boards at all. Another good thing about the shelves is that they are flexible in mounting. You can put the brackets above or below the shelves. This is handy since I’m storing books on the shelves and the brackets now function as bookends. The was I mounted them, they are just below eye level and above my computer desk so the spots where the stain didn’t take are hidden on the bottom and the top has books so it looks pretty good in my office. Last thing, they send extra screws.Some advice, when screwing the brackets to the shelves: use hand tools, not a power tool. Also, when you feel resistance to the screw and it looks like it reached the bottom STOP! This wood is so soft that you can strip out the hole with very minimal effort.Bottom line, for the price I think these shelves are worth buying and I will likely buy some more, but they are not top of the line materials, they fall into the good enough category.
