Works well, lays flat, and has great grip
I really like this rug pad so far. I have had it for almost six months, and it has been working very well under my medium-pile wool rug (mine is more of a knotted/weave texture, not fluffy). The photo I took was right after placing the rug on top, and even then, most of the fold lines smoothed out. After walking over it a few times, they disappeared completely. Functionally, it keeps my rug from sliding around really well, great traction and grip without feeling sticky. It also lays flat, has no chemical smell, and was easy to place and adjust.I was a little nervous about whether it was truly waterproof after reading some of the other reviews, so I did a small water test before laying it down: I poured some water on a patch to see if it would transfer. It didn’t pass through to the other side. Of course, water isn’t the same as pet accidents and I only tested a small section, so I can’t speak to real-world waterproofing but it gave me a bit of reassurance.Only note: the size runs just a touch smaller than the listed dimensions (mine measured about 95.25″ instead of 96″ on one side). Not a problem for me, if anything, it helps the pad stay hidden and avoids peeking out from under the rug.

Love this Pad
We replaced a 5 X 8 rug with an 8X10 and found that our recliners made it slide and bunch up, which was the reason we decided we needed a rug pad, (we bought the 1/4 inch) and as long as were buying one, we might as well get one that was waterproof. BUT when we got it place under the rug, OH MY GOSH, what a fabulous difference a pad makes – the cushion effect is wonderful! We know it’s supposed to extend the life of your rug, but it looks better too! We’ve used those slip proof things under our rugs, but never a pad – will always put a pad under them now. Great price too, buy the way. Hard in the pic to see the pad, but it’s there! Oh yeh, it does stop the bunching up!!

a little thinner than expected… But, overall five stars!
This rug pad has held mine rug in place with zero issues and I was able to trim away any excess padding with ease. It is a great quality product and the only reason I did not give this rug pad Five stars was because it was a little thinner than expected. However, I did order the thinner Option and wish now I had opted for the thicker one. Overall, this rug pad had zero smell, and has done everything. It said it would!

Photo attached. I guess the “frequently returned item” is more indicitive of a bad product then the reviews are.

Buyer heads up
Ordered 1/4 thickness an 5×8 size. The pad I received was 1/8” thick and was short an inch or so in both directions. Kinda bummed but don’t have the energy to return. Fingers crossed it’s durable and actually is waterproof. It does stay in place but is very thin.

Lock your rug in place even with 2 dogs!
I have a larger one of these pads for my living room rug and it works great so I decided to get one to go with a new rug runner that I bought. There was a delivery problem with my initial order so I cancelled & just ran to Lowes to get something so that I would have a pad when my runner got here. That was a mistake. I had to buy 2 pads that were supposed to be 2×8 so they could fit a 2×16 runner and they were about a foot shorter than they said! My runner kept bunching up and moving around. I ordered this again & as soon as I put it down the runner has been locked in place! I had to cut a lot off the end but that worked out because I was able to use that part for another rug I have. I highly recommend these rug pads! They make the rugs comfortable to walk on, they’re thick and they keep the rug from moving.
